Our Community

At The Butts Primary School, we value the importance of developing strong links between the school, local, and wider communities. The Butts Primary School is not a building in isolation, but is situated within the community of Alton and surrounding area, which is part of the larger community of Hampshire. We believe a school goes far beyond the school gates and that it takes a whole community to develop children to become lifelong, caring citizens.  

It is important that The Butts Primary School, its children, staff and governors are recognised as part of the local, wider and international community.  Through visits, assemblies, concerts and special events, we involve our pupils in the local community, so that they learn how to participate in a practical way in the life and concerns of their neighbourhood and communities. Working with parents, local residents, the business community, public services, and voluntary services teaches the children to become active citizens.

We are always looking for new ways to take our school beyond the school gates and enjoy welcoming our local community in. If you would like to be part of our assemblies, voluntary work or community tea events do contact the office.
